Explore our Workshops
GET UP AND DANCE
Explore how different gears push each other and change the dancers' spinning speed in a fun dance competition. Students will explore how pushing on an object can change the speed or direction of its motion, and start or stop its movement. Understand that objects push on one another when they touch and that this can change their motion. Explore how gears of different sizes push each other, which makes them move faster or slower.
PUSH CAR DERBY
Student will build a car with a removable brake and use a spring launcher to explore push and pull forces, and the effects of friction. Then explore and explain how force and friction can change the speed of an object and affect how far it'll go in a push car race.
RACE CAR
The light changes from red to green, and off you go! Did your pit team choose the right wheels? Will your team win? Students will customize a race car to explore different variables, like mass and rolling resistance, to see whose car can go the farthest and record data and use it to make predictions and recognize patterns.

Please note: Field Trips must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.
The maximum capacity of our Educational Workshop room is 35 students at one time.
For Field Trips with larger groups, we can offer multiple Workshops back-to-back to accommodate more students.
We do not recommend Educational Workshops for groups larger than 200 students due to common Field Trip time constraints.
A LEGOLAND Discovery Center-only Field Trip with an Educational Workshop will be about 3 hours including lunch.
A Combo Field Trip with an Educational Workshop will be about 4 hours including lunch.
Yes — depending on the number of students in your group and the amount of time you have allotted for the Field Trip.
A Combo Field Trip with an Educational Workshop will be about 4 hours including lunch.
We do not recommend adding a Workshop to Combo groups of more than 140 students due to common Field Trip time constraints.
Yes, you must have at least 15 students to add an Educational Workshop to your Field Trip.
