History of Little Caesars Arena
Little Caesars Arena is a multi-purpose arena in the heart of Midtown Detroit. Construction on the arena began in 2015 and finished in 2017. Once completed the arena became the official home for the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Pistons.
The complex features a unique ‘deconstructed’ design with retail shops, restaurants, and other business housed in a ring around the perimeter which have then been connected to the arena via a glass roof.
This design creates an indoor ‘street’ around the perimeter which can be open all year round even when there are no events happening within the arena. The arena is currently used for both sports and live entertainment events.
LEGO® Little Caesars Arena in MINILAND
Our LEGO® replica of Little Caesars Arena is built from over 30,000 bricks and took 200 hours to design and build.
Currently on display is a Red Wings game, but the ice rink can be changed out for the Piston’s basketball court as needed, just as in the real LCA.
The LEGO model features a cutaway design that showcases the inner stadium, outer concourse and 2nd story balcony, and even some of the offices of the Pistons and Red Wings.
Other highlights include a wall-mounted Corvette over the Chevrolet entrance, a LEGO statue of Gordie Howe, and many of the actual businesses located along the exterior of the building. The roof features a 1000-piece mosaic of the Little Caesar himself.
Additions made to the exterior of Little Caesar’s Arena include the “Brickgarten” outdoor gathering space, the Chevrolet Plaza, and the Woodward Avenue QLine.
