Accessibility Guide

• The center has been designed with your needs in mind. We review our risk assessments and policies annually to ensure we remain as accessible as possible to all guests, including wheelchair access. 
• Please note: adults must have at least one child (aged 17 and under) in their party to visit the attraction.
• LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Westchester offers no-cost Carer tickets for caregivers accompanying guests to the attraction. Tickets are available on a walk-up basis at our admissions counter with valid caregiver ID.

Accessibility Guide

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Westchester Shop, Cafe, show venues and the majority of our rides and attractions are (ADA) accessible to guests who use wheelchairs or are in need of special services. Please use this guide on your visit to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

For your safety, be sure to check the safety signage located at the entrance of each attraction. Please take a moment to read carefully before considering a ride or attraction for you and your child. For your safety, exceptions to the posted ride restrictions are not possible.

Queues to all rides are wheelchair (ADA) accessible so that all guests may wait together.

While our Team Members (staff) are more than happy to help you with specific access to special ride compartments, they are not permitted to lift a guest into or out of a ride. Family members and helpers are much better informed about your specific condition. Therefore, in case of an emergency or ride evacuation where you might require extra help or assistance, we ask that you be accompanied by someone who knows the best way to lift or carry you to ensure a safe evacuation.

For your convenience, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester offers no-cost Carer tickets for caregivers accompanying guests to the attraction. Tickets are available on a walk-up basis at our admissions counter with valid caregiver ID. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Service Animals

• LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester welcomes service animals to accompany guests with disabilities in all areas where members of the public are allowed to go. A service animal is defined as an animal trained to help with a medical disability by performing work or tasks benefiting an individual with a disability.  
• Service animals must be harnessed, or leashed at all times. If at any time your service animal’s behavior is out of control, you will be asked to remove your service animal from the premises.
• Service animals are not permitted on Kingdom Quest or Merlin’s Apprentice and may be left with a non-rider. Service animals may not be handled by or left with other guests or Team Members.

Restrooms

• All of our restroom facilities are wheelchair accessible.  

Guests with Autism

• Our Birthday Party rooms may be used as a quiet space, when not in use, for guests needing a break from their fun. Additional accommodations are also available for guests unable to wait in line. Please see a staff member in Admissions for assistance.

Expecting Mothers

• For their safety, expecting mothers are not recommended to ride The Great LEGO Race VR Experience, Merlin's Apprentice, or Kingdom Quest.

Nursing Mothers

• Nursing is welcomed in any location inside our attraction, and our Birthday Party rooms may be used when not in use if additional privacy is desired. Please see any staff member of assistance. 

Hearing Impaired Guests

• Scripts are available upon request for the 4D Cinema prior to entering the film. Please see staff member for assistance. 

OUR ATTRACTIONS

Kingdom Quest

Ride Description: This attraction features ride vehicles that move through dimly-lit areas and uses lasers to zap targets along the way to score points. Strobe lighting effects are used. Guests must have full upper body control, and a helper is recommended. For those in wheelchairs, a special vehicle is available. Please ask for assistance from a Team Member.

Ride Access:

• Guests using a wheelchair are permitted to enjoy Kingdom Quest, however must self-transfer onto the ride vehicle. Team members can offer assistance steadying a guest transferring to or from a wheelchair. They may not lift or assist in lifting anyone using a wheelchair. Please alert the ride operator prior to boarding for assistance.
• Guests with casts are able to ride as long as the cast is below the knee, fits within the ride vehicle and does interfere with the rider’s or fellow rider’s safety. 
• In the event of an emergency stop, please remain seated until a staff member arrives to escort you through the ride.

Ride Restrictions:

• All riders must be able to sit upright unaided in order to ride.
• Guests under 4ft 3in inches tall must have an adult ride with them.
• One adult per bench is required.
• All guests must wear shoes in order to ride.
• All guest must be able to walk on to the ride unassisted in order to ride. 
• Expecting mothers are not recommended to ride.

Merlin's Apprentice

Ride Description: A fast paced ride that travels in a circular direction. Guests must have full upper body control without assistance and be able to transfer from wheelchair to ride. A helper is recommended.

Ride Access:

• Guests utilizing a wheelchair may enter from the admissions area, as the queue line is wheelchair accessible. For guests unable to wait in line, access through the exit gate is permitted after receiving permission from the ride operator.

Ride Restrictions:

• You must be 3' tall in order to ride this ride. If you are 4' or taller, you may ride this ride alone.
• If you are between 3' and 4' tall, you must be accompanied by someone over 4' tall.
• All riders must be able to sit upright unaided in order to ride.
• Guests with casts are able to ride as long as the cast is below the knee/ elbow, fits within the ride vehicle and does interfere with the rider’s or fellow rider’s safety. 
• All guests must wear shoes in order to ride.
• All guest must be able to walk on to the ride unassisted in order to ride. 
• Expecting mothers are not recommended to ride.

4D Cinema

Theater Description: This attraction features 4 different 3D movies, all averaging 15 minutes in length. Films contain sudden effects including strobe lighting, snow, wind, and rain.

Theater Access: 

• Guests utilizing a wheelchair may enter from the pre-show area as the queue line is wheelchair accessible. For guests unable to wait in line, access through the exit gate is permitted after receiving permission from the ride operator.
• Designated wheelchair seating is available within the theater.
• Not recommended for guests with epilepsy, as films utilize strobe lightning.
• Guests with low vision may request to sit in the front sections.
• Scripts are available for the NINJAGO 4D Movie movie shown in our 4D Cinema and are available upon request at the 4D Cinema prior to entering the film. 
• Height Restrictions: Guests must be accompanied by an adult.

NINJAGO Soft Play

Attraction Description: Train through interactive and build challenge activities to improve your flexibility, agility, ingenuity, and LEGO brick building skills to help protect NINJAGO from its marauding enemies.

Attraction Restrictions: 

• Suitable for guests between 36" - 60" tall.
• Shoes and socks are required.
• Guests using a wheelchair are permitted to enjoy NINJAGO Soft Play however must self-transfer onto the attraction.

LEGO® Factory Tour

Dive into an imaginative demonstration of the LEGO® Factory. As you explore you will learn how raw plastic is transformed into colorful LEGO® bricks. Get ready for an interactive and playful experience about how each station works!
